Appenzeller is an international house with a beautiful mix of students from all over the world. Every semester new students arrive in Korea, many for the first time. Moving is always challenging, but moving to an entirely new country is even more difficult, especially at a young age. You have to get acquainted with your new surroundings, and finding those fun, hidden spots to visit can take a very long time and a lot of effort. Realizing that, an RA decided to help the new Zellers by saying, "Let's explore many different places to create wonderful memories for your first year." 

This RA created a long list of places around Incheon and Seoul, some famous and some not so well known. The RA had the participants choose at least seven of those places that they would like to visit before the end of the semester. The Zellers would have to take selfies at each place as a way of recording the memory and publicizing the sites. From amusement parks and famous streets to old villages and museums, the Zellers traveled all over Incheon and Seoul. Some even took the challenge of hiking up to the top of a mountain! Messages and photographs poured in from the Zellers about their travel experiences. Wearing the traditional Korean hanbok at the Gyeongbokgung palace seemed to be a particularly fun experience for many Zellers. A couple even reported getting compliments from older Korean ladies as they walked by.

<Let's Explore> was an event that was created and launched at the start of the semester when restrictions were still in place, and the RA thought that the only thing that could make the event better would be if all of us could all travel around together. With offline events now being allowed and restrictions on the number of people in gatherings lifted, who knows? Maybe the <Let's Explore> program might resurface in later semesters where RAs and Zellers can travel, make memories, and experience all Korea has to offer together.
